Day
2! Had our daily free breakfast at the resort – their menu is really good and
extensive! Though you can only order one item off it, don’t be mistaken because
they are all really filling.

Chek
and I took the scheduled shuttle service to the Ubud centre to explore!
Ubud
has 2 main roads – Monkey Forest Road and Hanoman Street. They basically
consist of restaurants, cafes and small shops.
I
find it rather sad that the whole of Bali seems more like a tourist land rather
than a country by itself. Everywhere (especially Kuta & Seminyak) caters
more to foreign tourists than the locals themselves. But I guess it’s the same
everywhere else in the world.
It
was our lucky day and we came across an Italian restaurant that specialises in
pizza! The place has a buy 1 get 1 free offer every Saturday along Monkey
Forest Road.

For
dinner we tried out Warung Schnitzel, because I found it recommended on
Tripadvisor and it was near our resort.

Their
schnitzel is really good! It is really flavourful and the accompany sauces like
mushroom sauce and their special sauce make everything better.
Sadly
their lasagna is not their specialty – it had no taste whatsoever and it is
really flat.
TIP:
it was only day 2 and I was feeling quite fat and gross, probably because every
meal had meat in it and it was a bit overwhelming. I’ve learnt that when
travelling, try to pace your meals and do not over eat. It’s easy to do so
because you want to try everything but it’s not worth feeling too full either.
TIP:
when in the Ubud area, try to get back to your accommodation by 8pm. This is
because there are not many street lamps and very little shops are open. So
there’s actually no point in going out either, haha. Chek and I learnt that
while walking after dinner.
